The  Gitschberg Jochtal ski and resort area offers excellent hiking trails in the summertime, with ample opportunity to stop at rustic alpine huts along the way for refreshing snacks and drinks. In the wintertime, there are 44 kilometers of well-prepared ski slopes for winter sport enthusiasts of every age.

The ALPINPOOL adventure swimming facility, a bakery, a bank, two grocery stores / souvenir shops, a wood-carving shop, two pizzerias, a sport equipment store, and two mountainbike / ski rental agencies are located in this magnificent mountain village.

The main town of Mühlbach – which is easily reached by aerial tram or in just a few minutes by car – offers not only numerous cafes, inns, and pizzerias, but also a doctor's office, a pharmacy, and a large number of shops and boutiques.

The cities of Brixen / Bressanone (18 km), Bruneck / Brunico (32 km), and Sterzing / Vipiteno (37 km) with their historic buildings, museums and sights are in the immediate area.
