For over half a century the gates of the Langwieserhof have been open to guests from near and far, inviting them to enjoy a time-out in the South Tyrolean mountains. At our farm with panoramic views over Maranza, a warm farm atmosphere meets living tradition and a close-knit family who make sure every day that your holiday in Valle Isarco becomes truly special.
She is both farmer and hostess with a passion holding everything together as the soul of the house. As a passionate chef she knows her way around the kitchen and delights our guests with home-made delicacies throughout their stay. In addition to her love for cooking, Michaela has a special passion for flowers and herbs, which she tends to with care. And she’s always happy to stop for a chat with guests
Whether in the house, fields, reception, dining room or stable – Andreas is everywhere and helps wherever he’s needed. He enjoys the variety that farm life brings and, together with Michaela, keeps everything running smoothly. As our self-declared handyman, he’s always on call for repairs and maintenance, carrying them out with the utmost precision.
She’s Michaela and Andreas’ older daughter and a true ray of sunshine. Laura is training in business and tourism and helps out wherever she can. In her free time, she enjoys staying active and being out in nature.
She is the youngest of the bunch and knows exactly how to charm everyone. As an apprentice confectioner and baker, she delights our guests with her delicious cakes and tarts.
Sometimes we can hardly get enough of the panorama stretching out before us: from Maranza to the Sciliar, across Valle Isarco, the Sass de Putia, all the way to the Dolomites of Val Pusteria – and it’s not just our guests who enjoy it, but also our furry farm residents. Cows and calves graze amid the picturesque mountain scenery, chickens and quails scratch happily in the run, fluffy rabbits hop about, and our cuddly cat has found his favourite sunspot. Simply idyllic …
Our family has called the Langwieserhof home for four generations now. Until 1974 it was a self-sufficient farm, before a small guesthouse was added alongside the stables and fields. In 2015 the second floor was completely redesigned for the first time: spacious rooms, modern bathrooms and a cosy holiday apartment were created, along with a reception area and ski storage on the lower floors. In 2019, we also said goodbye to our old tethered barn and built a bright open barn with wonderful straw wellness loungers for our cows. And since 2024, the first floor shines in new splendour too: two additional holiday apartments now offer true farm charm with modern comfort.
Put your feet up and take a deep breath! Our relaxation garden invites you to unwind and enjoy with its cosy seating and lounging areas. While our grown-up guests soak up the sunshine and admire the stunning views over Maranza, little ones can run wild on our farm’s very own playground, with swing, slide, pedal tractor, playhouse, trampoline and table football …
Because we care deeply about the environment, sustainability plays a big role at our farm in Maranza. Since 2008, we’ve heated exclusively with local wood pellets and wood chips from our own forest. Michaela mostly cooks on a wood-burning stove, and we source our electricity from South Tyrolean hydro-power – around 30% of which comes from our own photovoltaic system. To conserve resources, we also skip daily room service: rooms are cleaned every two days (except Sundays and public holidays). By doing so, we consciously reduce the use of water, energy and cleaning agents.
